Nancy, this weekend, Jan 4-5, was the Ambassadorial Scholar and Outbound GSE Team Orientation in High Point. Ran into Charles Allen, DGE for D7690 whose District is sending a GSE Team to D3250 in December 2008. He expressed some concern that he would be unable to get a GSE Team to be in India for the 2008-09 District Conference now scheduled for December 16-18. His concern is the proximity to the Xmas Holidays. He has not had good communication with the 2008-09 GSE Coordinator. His email CharlesAllen@Rotary7690.org

Hello from Virginia,
Lee Dixon just sent me this link and I will be keeping up on your journey. I hope all is going well with your team. We have a few students from India here so I will be talking to them about your visit. I hope I’ll have a chance to see some of your adventures in the future.
Be safe and take care to all.

Nancy,
Thanks to Lee Dixon, just found out you are already in one of my old stamping grounds. As you may remember, I served for many years in South Asia in the Foreign Service and took a GSE Team to the Madras area in January of 1997. No matter how much you brief the team in advance, it is always an amazing experience seeing their first reactions to the wonderful chaos of India, isn’t it? Since India is the world’s largest democracy -as they tell you at every opportunity- and will soon pass China in population, it is certainly great that Rotary can play such an important role in promoting the friendships between Americans and Indians.
I will be reading your blogs with great interest and look forward to hearing all about your trip in person when the opportunities permit.
Safe trip, in the meantime, and keep the Imodium close by! Milt

Hi Nancy: Wow! What a way to start the new year by being in another part of the world serving others and being an international ambassador for Friendship, Peace, and goodwill.
I look forward to hearing from you all the wonderful learning experiences you have gained. Wished I could be in your shoes.
I am working hard to spread the word and awareness of our Distirct Friendship Exchange.
I hope I can make an exchange before the end of this Rotary year.
Take care. Keep safe. If you can get contacts for me to do a Friendship exchange in India , that would be SUPER.
All the best
